High in the mountainous jungles of Africa, 14 of you
lucky journeyers will live the ultimate safari dream: tracking the
endangered and elusive mountain gorilla. At time of this printing there
are just 668 of these human-like creatures left on earth. According to
our last group here, no wildlife encounter can surpass the thrill of
meeting them face to face. Observing the ape families stirs something
deeply primal in your senses. Photograph the mothers, babies and giant
silverbacks as they play, quarrel and build their nightly nests. Many
tour operators arrange only one trek but we provide two to increase your
chance with better sightings for the rarest encounter in the world.
Follow the footsteps of Diane Fossey with a professional
gorilla tracker. Just one moment with these wild gentile giants will
take your breath away. It takes stamina and patience but the payoff is
unforgettable. We cover the mist shrouded habitats in Rwanda and
Uganda. Volcanic landscapes of lush mountain slopes, emerald lakes and
dense rainforests. December is the perfect time to go. You’ll see
other wildlife as well and experience cultural immersion with local
villages. This vacation will not only benefit you, but your
participation greatly aids the local economy. Part of your trek permit
helps sustain and protect these threatened gorillas. Join us on our
most captivating AFS adventure ever. Now is the time to meet your
distant relatives and connect with nature. Come for an extreme close up
encounter. Come live a dream.
Gorillas In The Mist Highlights

Africa. Your participation on this trip helps sustain the
