What a unique South American adventure. All the photos above are
from our trip to Ariau Towers. This superior hotel built entirely on stilts high in the
rainforest canopy. Nearly 11 miles of catwalks up to 70 feet high connecting
the towers of 370 rooms, restaurants and two swimming pools. The treetop views here of
monkeys, macaws, parrots and sloth's are spectacular. The huge property
was built without destroying a single tree. It has hosted many
celebrities. This is our home for a vacation stay perfectly balanced
with comfort and adventure.
The Amazon holds the most complex ecosystem on earth with the richest
biodiversity. In Brazil there’s a staggering array of unique flora and
fauna. Our adventure began at a deluxe hotel in Manaus, gateway to the
Amazon River Basin. Then we departed to Ariau Amazon Towers. From here, daily
excursions by motorized canoes with naturalist guides got us up
close and personal to nature. It was an incredible photography
experience.
From the heart of the lush jungle, we enjoyed piranha fishing, evening alligator spotting,
guided eco-trail hikes, visits to native huts, a local school, the Indian
craft market and
more. Some opted for a special “AFS Jungle Survivor Day” to test their
stamina survival skills, most joined the “Pink Dolphin Tour” and enjoyed
this rare chance to play with these
rare
aquatic mammals. All meals were included, the weather was and perfect.
We tasted the fresh tapioca and Brazil nuts with local natives in this
tropical jewel. This is an extraordinary experience that will greatly
enrich your knowledge of our planet earth!
