Greetings from the President--
 From
humble beginnings with big dreams, AFS now enters its 17th year.
My wanderlust, curiosity and astonishment of our world remains as passionate as
ever. I'm convinced travel is addictive because it's the ultimate
expression of freedom. The more I see, the more I long to see. Each new place is a fantastic learning experience.
My greatest reward is sharing it all with others and witnessing how lives are
enhanced by the sheer joy of exploration. The laughter, comradery, romances and even marriages along the way are
priceless. (Read about my
marriage here.) It's all about new friendships, discovery,
personal growth and spiritual renewal.
Today I marvel
at our growth and I'm filled with gratitude. We never
advertise and choose to remain a small company with a personal
touch. 2007 was a wonderful year of remarkable journeys
covering 16 countries on 11 trips. Over 80% of each group
consisted of past clients who have traveled with us before or people
referred to us by them. Much of our success comes from
intriguing destinations chosen, unique itineraries, quality
suppliers and the lowest cost possible. We always strive to
give you a 5 star vacation for a 3 star price.
I continually
research places that will encompass stimulation, relaxation,
education and adventure. There is variety to cater to all
tastes. Each voyage is so meaningful and enriching, it's
difficult to choose. Some of you allow me the pleasure to do
this for you. Imagine yourself petting a tiger, dancing with a
Zulu tribe, hugging a koala, smashing grapes on a Tuscan farm,
snorkeling Fiji, looking into the eyes of a mountain gorilla, riding
the world's most scenic rail or a camel to the pyramids! For
2008 I chose places to play, grow, reflect and learn.
Challenge yourself this year to go just a bit further to a place
that will make your heart leap. Seek
loftier goals in witnessing more
of the worlds wonders.

To
lead groups of singles around the world, it takes
familiarity, confidence and experience. In today's
busy world, organized group travel is more popular than
ever. Time has replaced money as a travelers limiting
factor. And you're not alone with AFS. There's
no need to stay home because you don't have a travel
partner. You work hard and deserve a recess to play
hard. Dream wild dreams and spoil yourself while you
are able. |
