The First Six for 2009
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm still in negotiations with airline group departments and
hotels for other trips, but all should be completed by late
October. The variety of destinations will cater to all travel
styles and regardless of the economy and we are confident that
'09 trips will sell out fast as in previous years.
An AMEX survey published in last week's Travel Weekly
magazine revealed that Americans remain passionate about their
vacations. 88% of respondents indicate that their travel plans
will remain the same or increase over the next 2 years.
Interestingly, it showed the majority will be more creative
now in choosing affordable destinations ($2400 vs $3900),
tapping into reward points and taking shorter and more
frequent vacations (8 days vs 16.) We are very proud of our
destination choices and the pricing on our trips this
upcoming year.
Can't Find a Travel Partner?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Over and over my clients say that they made elaborate travel
plans with friends, but they all bail out last minute when it
was time to pay. At AFS, we carefully match you with a
roommate, but here's a way to narrow the demographics with
someone closer to your personality. See www.travelchums.com.
The site is free and has over 40,000 members with detailed
profiles!
From Daily Candy Lexicon - Words that don't
exist but should...
Touron - tourist and moron
iQue - Your level of iPod expertise or lack thereof
Mouse potato - The wired generations answer to the couch
potato
That's all for now. I hope to see you on not one, but two
AFS trips in 2009.
Bon Voyage!
