We recently returned with a wonderful group from Prague &
Poland. Highlights included castle tours, the famous Salt
Mines, Auschwitz, Zakapane Mountain Village and a fun Crazy
Communism day that took us back to the 1960's. They aren't
on the Euro yet, so the Old World charm was a real value at
$1398.
Sometimes I'm told of people who copy the AFS destination
and itinerary I design assuming they can save money doing it
on their own. A couple did this recently and ran into major
obstacles. it began when they were ripped off by an airport
taxi driver and then checked into a disappointing 2 star
hotel in Prague. In Poland, they had to rent a car, hire a
private guide for Auschwitz and Wawel Castle, wait in long
lines for entrances and finally, spend a fortune at a
"folklore dinner show" with just 4 others in attendance.
When traveling, you must understand time is money. And it's
not just about saving money, but maximizing your
experience. Group travel with group buying power has
advantages for a hassle-free, fully guided vacation
experience.

New Travel Insurance News
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Because to job loss these days, many insurance companies such as
TravelSafe & TravelGuard are covering for unexpected
layoffs. This is for involuntary loss of employment which
occurs more than 30 days after you buy your coverage. You must
have been employed at least 2 years.
Be Careful at ATM's Abroad!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In Melbourne, thieves stole millions of dollars after
attaching skimming devices to ATMs. The hidden device
is placed in the ATM. Information is gathered by a
magnetic reader and a pinhole camera records your PIN as
it's punched in the keyboard. Criminals can even
access this by their cell phone and transfer your info
to another ATM to withdraw cash.
ALWAYS hide your pin number with your hand even when
you are alone.
Duty Free Liquids
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many purchase duty free liqueurs and perfumes
enroute although they are rarely bargains.
Changing planes on a through flight may require
you to dump it out even if it's sealed!
Recommendation - buy these items only on the
last leg of your journey. Don't open the new
security sealed plastic bag. On USA arrival,
transfer it to your checked bag for final
domestic flight home.
For 2010 - Today every person is
price sensitive. I'm working hard on new
destinations for 2010. It's easy to pick a country
in South America, Asia, Europe or Africa. The time
consumption and labor enters when I fight for you to
get the best price and value. I've been negotiating
for the past 6 weeks which is my annual torture
time. Please be patient my precious
Culture-Vultures. Good things come to those who
wait.
Travel Trends
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In this recession, we are making do with less. We may feel
guilty for taking a vacation. I believe that taking on
extraordinary adventure is a worthy investment. Money is
eventually replaceable but the experience may be presented
again. If denied a vacation for too long, most Americans
get cabin fever, pack a bag and go, regardless of economic
fears. Many of our exotic travelers can't sit still. They
are so passionate, travel is a lifestyle and necessity. For
a few, it's a healthy addition.
A dream trip doesn't have to cost you a fortune. We get
clients from all walks of life, most are on a tight
budget but find it imperative to do just one big trip a
year. Anticipation is half the fun before the escape
to an ultimate dream.
