Many people think they’ve seen Europe but miss the little countries with the most charm, spirit and vitality. This 2 country tour features my favorite cities on the road less traveled and a unique itinerary. Belgium and Holland teem with museums, incredible architecture, music, markets and festivals in July. And 2006 marks the anniversary of Rembrandt with spectacular cultural events.
| Belgium is a jewel box brimming with pleasures. It boasts the best hand made chocolate in the world from Godiva to Neuhaus and you’ll have plenty to taste! I’ve included a flat road bicycle tour from village to village to work it off. Tour Brussels, home of NATO and capital of EU with its gothic, baroque and nouveau buildings, the Royal Palace (open only in July), Manneken Pis and 13th century spectacular Grand Palace. Taste the mussels, Belgium fries, waffles and pralines in some of the worlds most acclaimed restaurants and this is the home of beer with 429 different varieties. Tour chocolate factory and museum. |

Then spend 2 days in enchanting Bruges, a perfectly preserved medieval fairyland. Centuries past seem to whisper to us as we cruise the canals of this glorious city. Here is an open air museum where history envelops you.

On to the tulip and diamond capital of Holland to see the windmills, fishing villages, clog makers, cheese houses and all things Dutch. Popular Amsterdam is special in its character and style with its canals and an atmosphere of tolerance among its people. |

|
We’ve included a unique AFS guided tour of the notorious Red Light District which you’ll never forget. Also enjoy a city tour and canal cruise to cover all the famous sites. There are 50 museums to explore including Rijksmuseum with works of Van Gough. |
