mapfernandina.jpg (90x129 -- 17571 bytes)Sail away into the dawn of evolution to place like no where else on earth!  Isolated 600 miles off the west coast of South America lies the worlds most preserved and lavish ecosystem along with a display of wildlife suspended in time.  This archipelago emerged from volcanic activity creating unique lava tunnels, blow holes and beaches.  It now harbors plant and animal life found no where else.  Astounded by this “living laboratory”, Charles Darwin wrote his book here, “On the Origin of Species.”

Untouched for centuries, it’s creatures never learned to fear humans.  Today you can stand inches from flocks of birds, penguins, giant iguanas, 600lb. turtles and even snorkel with fur seals.  Our 5 day cruise covers the best islands of Bartoloné, Fernandine, Santiago, Bachas Beach,

Isabela, Santa Cruz and the Charles Darwin Center.  We secured 36 spaces on a first class expedition ship with delicious meals, a swimming pool and live shows nightly.  Each day, expert guides lead us by zodiacs for land tours on foot.  Photograph huge colonies of sea lions and dolphins.  There’s a staggering array of birdlife from Blue Footed Boobies to the countless frigate birds.

We begin and end our journey in the dynamic capital of Quito, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its Spanish colonial character.  In the Andes Mountains we tour Otovalo known for its woven and leather goods.  Also see the llamas of Cayambe, the Lake District and famous Indian Market for outrageous bargains.  I have always loved Ecuador and wish you could see all my photos of Galapagos.  No visa’s, only a 6 hour flight, US dollar is the local currency and December is the best time to go with spring like weather!

Just imagine yourself looking eye to eye with a three foot albatross.  Come isolate yourself in the purity of nature where every day is a Kodak moment.  It's eco-tourism at its best.  This really is a tropical paradise that awaits discovery.
