cave grpAttend a whale festival, ride an ostrich, dance with Zulu and have one on one elephant encounter you’ll neverostriches-01.jpg (123x87 -- 12221 bytes) forget!  Our past groups loved this country but we’ve perfected it with even more exotic adventure.  This is the ultimate safari combining the Big 5 of Africa’s game with the Big 3 of the ocean; dolphin, sharks and the best whale watching in the world!  The favorite holiday for locals is following the dramatic coast of the India Ocean along the famed “Garden Route.”

Begin in cosmopolitan Cape Town that looks like Rio.  Cable car up Table Mountain, tour the most southern Cape Point, cruise to Seal Island and visit penguins at Hout Bay.  In Hermanus revel in the annual “Whale Festival” where every beach is a spectacle of hundreds of Southern Right whales, some weighing 50 tons.  In Plettenberg Bay, we visit the amazing new Elephant Sanctuary for a “Hand-in-Trunk Tour” where you can totally interact with them.  Oudtshoorn is the “Father Capital” where we visit an ostrich farm with a chance to ride one and later tour the spectacular natural wonders of the Cango Caves.

Knysna

The country’s most breathtaking scenery unfolds before us as we enter Knysna, known for its oyster hatcheries, mountains and lakes.  Ferry over lagoons to the Featherbed Natural Reserve for guided nature walks.  Photograph the vistas on the craggy twin “Knysna Heads.”  See rare birds, turtles and the endangered seahorses.  The entire day is a Kodak moment.  Canoe or kayak and then lunch at the unique “Food Forest” under the Milkwood trees.

From Whalesong Lodge, we will visit a Zhosa tribe and head to Monkeyland, the world’s first free roaming primate sanctuary.  Later depart with Ocean Safaris for a 2 hour Dolphin Cruise.

Our last 3 days are spent at Kariega Game Reserve for daily game drives!  This sanctuary holds over 250 species of animals including lion, leopard, rhino, hippo, elephant and buffalo.  All meals are included here and beautiful lodge accommodations.  Departure from beautiful Port Elizabeth.
