pp First, you must always have at least 2 blank pages inside your passport. If you run out, the National Passport Service will add pages. Your Post Office will provide you with a form to fill out. Then, mail that form with your passport to the National Passport Service. In approximately 2 weeks, you should have several new pages added into your passport. Best of all, there is no fee for this service unless you require expedited processing.

How was your recent cruise to Scandinavia? - R.D.

We had a wonderful group of 60 who blended harmoniously. They were a great group!

I've cruised dozens of ships on various lines and in my opinion, this is as good as it gets on a mega-liner of 2200+ passengers with 920 crew members. Costa’s Atlantica was a floating palace of Art Deco furnishings, marble inlaid floors and millions of dollars invested in original works of art. It exceeded my expectations.

How can you offer India for $1198? - Jon Wagner

I've always dreamed of touring India. After searching 6 tours from various companies, yours came up less than 1/3rd of their prices. I was skeptical but booked it in November, as I couldn't pass it up. (This is my first trip.) How can you do this? - Jon Wagner

The air is not cheap, but $1197 on land with 5* hotels vs. A&K’s price of $4600 certainly is a deal. We're often able to pass on incredible savings directly to you. For example, on our $999 Tahiti trip (incl. air) last year, it was too good to pass up. Through the years, I've discovered how tour operators can pad their profits with $100-$3000 markups. No wonder they can absorb any airline tax increases, fuel surcharges or foreign currency fluctuation rates.

The new gimmick is the “bare bones” trip. Great destination, great price but it includes nothing other than the hotel. Tours? Optional. Transfers? Optional. Meals? Optional. Entrance fees? Optional. Be sure to bring an extra credit card on these trips. I won't do that to my clients.

Several times I've run a trip into the red, but was committed to honoring the price quoted to clients. Most times we squeeze blood negotiating with our top suppliers, but they respect us because we always produce a group.

How can I prevent traveler's diarrhea? - N. W.

Be careful about what you eat and drink while you are away. Unsafe foods include salads, unpeeled fruits, raw or undercooked meats and seafood, and unpasteurized dairy products. Don't drink tap water. Don't use ice, unless you're sure it's made from purified water. Bottled water is probably safe, but make sure the cap and seal are not broken. If you stick with carbonated water, you always know it's safe. Don't eat food from street food stands. Load up on zinc and don't forget to bring Imodium.

Client Ron Rarick adds, "Take along a bottle of "Hand Sanitizer" and don't let any water get in your mouth while showering. That is an easy way to get the runs."
