Greetings from the President –
From
humble beginnings with big dreams, AFS now enters its 19th
year. As a former flight attendant with nearly 160 different countries
stamped in my passports, my wanderlust and astonishment of our world
remains as passionate as ever. I’m convinced travel is addictive,
because it is the perpetuation of wonder and the ultimate expression
of freedom. The more I see, the more I long to see. Each new place
is a fantastic cultural learning experience that calls me to greater
awareness. There is always the
triple emotional delight of anticipation, performance and
recollection.
My greatest reward is sharing it all with others and personally
witnessing transformations in people from the sheer joy of
exploration. Our trips are primarily for travel enthusiasts who
don’t have a travel companion. It’s all about new friendships,
discovery, personal growth and spiritual renewal. The laughter,
camaraderie, romances and even marriages along the way are
priceless. (Many marriages have occurred from our trips including
mine. (Read about
my marriage here.)
Today I marvel at our growth and am filled with gratitude. We don’t
advertise and choose to remain a small company to keep that personal
touch in a high tech world. For us it is about quality over quantity
in offering just 12 trips per year versus 30+ as others do. Most
trips sell out quickly, often in days. When this happens we may consider adding another back to
back. Over 80% of each group consists of people who’ve traveled
with us before or those referred from past clients. Much of our
success comes from our choice of intriguing destinations, unique
itineraries, quality suppliers and low prices. Please take a moment

I research places that will encompass stimulation, relaxation,
education and adventure. There’s variety to cater to all tastes.
Each voyage is so enriching, it’s difficult to choose and some of
you allow me the pleasure of choosing for you. I love this. Most
of our seasoned vagabonds have already done the churches and museums
of Europe. We now present more exotic places of wonder on roads less
traveled. We believe the world is your playground and that you
deserve a recess. For 2010, I chose places in which to play, grow,
reflect and learn. Our trips are geared to thrill seekers with
curious minds.

Thailand, standing at the edge of Victoria or Iguazu Falls, flying
over Everest, “toobing” through caves in New Zealand, tracking
tigers in Nepal, visiting a llama farm near Machu Picchu, marinating

with orphans in Kenya, assisting a vet in darting a lion or sailing
to Portofino and Capri– all enticing possibilities are yours. These
are just appetizers of our adventures ahead. Destination
satisfaction is our goal. Today people seek authentic cultural
experiences, not just a cruise ship buffet. Challenge yourself this

The economy is depressed, but history proves bad times don’t last
forever. Recent studies reveal Americans are now driven less by
material things and more interested with investing in life enriching
experiences. They want to connect, be touched by a place and
know they done something meaningful. Geo-tourism is strong and our tours remain as popular
as ever. So many dedicated travelers possess a tenacious spirit
that refuses to give up their annual vacation no matter what. I’m
grateful for my loyal clients who continue to crave adventure and

Adventures for Singles is the original
singles travel company for the international group traveler. We specialize in

Suzy's trip journals. Though Adventures For Singles is not primarily about
dating, it does happen and we've have had 17 marriages directly related to our
